THE OFFICIAL BIO OF PIERRE A. RINFRET BLOWING HIS OWN HORN, so to speak!
Personal: I am 73 years of age, in perfect health
(knock on wood), retired but not, love life and have had a great one ever
since I got out of the U.S. Army. Married to a brilliant and fabulous woman,
two terrific children ( Suzanne and Peter Alan [both brilliant pains-in-the-neck])
and one absolutely fabulous grandson.
Military: Did 3 years in the U.S. Army, 1943-1945,
did months in combat as a forward scout, BAR man, with the 26th Infantry
Division (A MA outfit). Wounded twice, decorated twice, nine medals.
Teaching: Adjunct Associate Professor of Economics
at NYU GBA, Visiting Lecturer at Colgate Darden School of Business, Columnist
for "Texas Business", Commentator for WTOP (Washington, D.C.)
Travel: 50 Countries mainly for self and USIS. Most of the time traveled with my wife, Ida.
Business Experience. Chairman of the Board, Lionel
D.Edie & Company, Inc. (1952-1966), Chairman and CEO, Rinfret Associates,
Inc. (1967 to 1991) an international intelligence business.
Politics: Unofficial economic advisor to Presidents
Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon . Member of economic advisory council for candidate
Richard Nixon in 1968 campaign. Principal Economic spokesman for Presidential
candidate Richard Nixon in 1972 campaign.
Candidate: Republican candidate for Governor against
Mario Cuomo in 1990. No money, no support from the party, took with Herbert
London (Conservative Party) 43 percent of the vote. Cuomo got 51 percent
which knocked him out of the Presidential box. London and I proved that
the 800 pound gorilla (Cuomo) was a 14 pound monkey. Had a ball. Turned
both parties upside down!
Degrees. Certificate of
E.E.Univ. of Maine (Orono) under ASTP program; B.S., N.Y.U. School of Commerce;
M.B.A, NYU GBA; LL.D. Pepperdine University; D.P.E. Univ. of Dijon, France

Business Experience: Was on 15 Boards of Directors
in life time (different times); Consultant to over 200 of Fortune top 500
companies at one time or another.
Greatest regret: Fought hard, very hard, against dishonesty,
liars and crooks but never fought hard enough.
Greatest accomplishments: Fought honorably for my
country in World War II. Married my wife in 1948. In 1982 and in each and
every year thereafter foresaw the collapse of the Soviet Union. Pinpointed
it in 1988! Most laughed.
Proud: Heritage. I leave
my family a heritage of integrity, no matter what it costs. Never cheated
on my wife, my children, my taxes, my business associates or my country.
Rejected Political Positions: Council of Economic
Advisors; U.S. Trade Ambassador to the Soviet Union Trade Fair; Secretary
of Commerce; Ambassador to India; member of Ronald Reagan's 1980 Presidential
economic campaign staff.
Retirement: Love it! Nantucket is wonderful!
Major complaint: There are not enough hours in the
day, not enough days in the week, not enough weeks in the years. Time is
fleeting and hate wasting one moment!
Rest of life: Dedicated to calling the liars and the
cheaters at every turn regardless of who they are, what party they may belong
to, how much money they may have, their fame or notoriety, their position
in life or politics, their reputations or their importance.
Most cherished belief: Democracy can only be served
by a free people and the responsibility of each citizen is to maintain and
expand that freedom. Free people are the hope of mankind.
Most cherished quotation: That of my deceased and
most beloved mother-in-law:
