It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pierre Andre Rinfret at the age of 82 on June 29, 2006.

As many of you who viewed this website know, Pierre was an incredible human being who lived an extraordinary and accomplished life and who meant many things to many people. He was a patriot, an analyst, a student and teacher of history, and an amazing economist who possessed an uncanny ability to see things clearly and honestly.

But to us, his family, he was first and foremost a loving husband, father and grandfather whose unconditional love and endless compassion left our world a better and brighter place. He lived a life of absolute integrity and honesty - the two traits he prized most - and left his family with an incredible legacy. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In the fourteen years that he had his two websites he never wanted to put ads on them or make money from them - in spite of the fact that he had over 1,500,000 hits a month (over 180 million during the last 14 years). He said that if he charged for people to access his sites or made money from them that it would compromise his ability to tell it as he saw it,

We as a family were very fortunate that when he became sick in December, 2003 that he was in the care of an exceptional cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital -- Dr. Charles Boucher. Dr. Boucher and his team of surgeons, especially Dr. Carey Akins who performed his six way bypass, gave us two and a half more years with him that we would not have otherwise had.

A fund has been established in Pierre's name at the Mass General Hospital Cardiac Care unit in the hopes that other families will be able to benefit from the kind of care that he received. For those of you who wish to say thank you to him for all that he has given you and all that you have learned, we ask that you make a contribution to this fund in his memory. Checks can be made out to:

“Massachusetts General Hospital”
For the Dr. Charles Boucher Cardiology Fund in Memory of Pierre Rinfret
165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600
Boston, Mass 02114

He would have liked knowing that some good could come even from his passing.

We would like to say thank you to all of those who wrote to him - your emails gave him a great sense of joy and he would print them out and come down each morning and share them with his family.

We intend to leave his website up for the foreseeable future and welcome your thoughts and prayers at par@iriswireless.com.

Warmest Regards,

The Rinfret Family.
